Since 1986 the Silent prefix of the Nolan family from Castleisland has been synonymous with greyhound sport. Initially, Timmy Nolan dipped his toe in the water with a sapling bought from Davy Quirke from Tipperary town.
Named Silent Speaker, he duly won his Trial Stake at Lixnaw and raised two flags at the National meeting in the hands of his great friend, the late John Curtain.
