Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota to star in new NFL and Netflix docuseries

A new sports documentary surrounding some of the NFL's premier quarterbacks is set to hit our screens in the coming months.

Reigning Super Bowl champion and MVP, Patrick Mahomes, headlines the signal-callers involved in a docuseries - the first of an ongoing partnership - covering the 2022 NFL season.

Minnesota's Kirk Cousins and Atlanta's Marcus Mariota are the other quarterbacks featured in Quarterback, set to be released on Netflix in the summer.

Quarterback will be the first of several seasons where NFL fans receive an insight into the lives and teams of the league's best paid, and most admired, players.

'I'm excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organization and for my family,' Mahomes said in a statement.

It follows the streaming site's more recent expansion of its sports docu-series collection after the immense success of Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

Netflix has brought viewers closer to the tennis court and onto the fairways with Break Point and Full Swing both released this year.

The docuseries will have plenty of material for avid watchers, given Mahomes' historic season with the Kansas City Chiefs; winning the MVP, Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP.

Meanwhile, Cousins had a standout season in parts, as Minnesota finished the regular season 13-4 and the NFC's No.2 seed.

Though, it ended in disaster for the Vikings, losing 31-24 at home in the wildcard to the 6th seed New York Giants.

Mariota began the season as the Atlanta Falcons' newest quarterback and got the start over rookie Desmond Ridder.

The 2015 No. 2 overall pick was benched for Ridder ahead of the Week 15 game at New Orleans.

Ridder guided Atlanta to two wins in his four starts, as the Falcons finished last in the NFC South at 7-10.

The show will be produced by Omaha Productions, NFL Films and 2PM Productions.
