While Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts duked it out during Super Bowl LVII, another quarterback caught the eye in Phoenix.

Trailblazing Diana Flores captured hearts and minds with her performance in the 'Run with it' commercial, the NFL's annual advertisement, aired just after Rihanna's half-time show.

The 25-year-old Mexican highlighted women in sport, flag football - and showcased her silky moves in a prank, which at first glance appeared to be part of the live broadcast.

Erin Andrews of Fox Sports interviewed Flores from the side of the field. Then Andrews attempted to rip flags from Flores' waist.

The likes of Sauce Gardner, Cam Heyward, Jalen Ramsey, Aidan Hutchinson, Devante Adams and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly chased Flores and attempt to take one of her flags. Then tennis ace Billie Jean King helps her get away.

Flores has been part of Mexico's national women's flag team since the age of 16, and she was the fourth-youngest quarterback at the 2022 World Games.

She grew up in Cuidad de Mexico and began playing flag football at the tender age of eight. She often found herself pitted against 16 and 17 year olds.

In an interview with NFL en Espanol, she said: 'My dad was the one that brought me to my first flag football practice.

'And my dad used to play football when he was young, so he always connected with me with this dream of being better and better.'

The 2022 World Games was held in Birmingham, Alabama, and featured flag football for the first time.

Mexico and the USA battled for the gold medal – and Flores led her team to a crushing win.

After completing 20 of 28 passes for 210 yards and four touchdowns, Flores led rampant Mexico to a thumping 39-6 win.

Flores is front and centre of the campaign by the NFL and the International Federation of American Football to introduce flag football to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
