Exhausted Karl Stefanovic arrives back in Sydney as his friendship with Michael Clarke is 'DONE'

Karl Stefanovic's decades-long friendship with Michael Clarke is rumoured to be over after he intervened a blazing row between the former Australian cricket captain and his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough in a public park in Noosa.

According to reports, the Today show host is 'done' with the sports star after his sister-in-law Jade accused Clarke of cheating on her with his ex Pip Edwards.

'Michael has sent texts to Karl, and another to Jade's parents. So far, they've fallen on deaf ears,' a source told New Idea.

The insider added that Stefanovic 'doesn't forgive easily'.

'Karl has told Jade that while Michael's ex Pip Edwards is still in his life, then it can't end well,' they said.

'Karl wants Jade to cut her losses and get on and meet someone else and let Michael learn his lesson the hard way.'

Meanwhile, an exhausted Stefanovic made his way through Melbourne Airport on Friday, but appeared to be in good spirits as he walked through security.

Dressed in the same navy suit he wore on his flight from Sydney to Melbourne the day before, the journalist had his white shirt unbuttoned to reveal a necklace that sat on his chest.

He also flashed several beaded bracelets which adorned both his wrists.

The breakfast TV anchor, 48, admitted he was 'pretty tired' on the Today show on Friday, after travelling from Sydney to Melbourne on Thursday for Nine's coverage of the Australian Open.

Stefanovic blamed his fatigue on staying up all night to watch the thrilling Australian Open tennis match between Andy Murray and Thanasi Kokkinakis, which went for five hours and 45 minutes before ending at 4:05am.

However, it's also possible he was playing peacemaker until the early hours, fielding frantic calls from his wife, sister-in-law and good mate as they struggled to deal with their dirty laundry being aired so publicly.

In footage of the brawl, Stefanovic is seen intervening in a blazing row between Clark and Yarbrough in a public park, after she accused Clarke of cheating on her with Edwards.

The 60 Minutes reporter is yet to make a statement over the ordeal, but was asked about the footage during an event held at the Australian Open on Thursday.

According to the Herald Sun he smiled when asked about the incident.

'You know what the answer is going to be,' he replied.

The dramatic footage, obtained by the Daily Telegraph, shows a shirtless Clarke being screamed at and slapped by his furious girlfriend as others in the group, including Stefanovic and celebrity accountant Anthony Bell, try to defuse the fracas.

The viral video of the Noosa incident shows Yarbrough accusing Clarke of sleeping with Edwards on December 17, and messaging her to say she is the 'love of his life'.

All hell broke loose as Clarke, Stefanovic and the Yarbrough sisters were having dinner at a beachside restaurant in Noosa with accountant Anthony Bell.

The video begins with Yarbrough screaming at Clarke before she slaps him in the face and pushes him away after the cricketer insists he didn't cheated on her.

'I'm wrong? I'm f**king wrong! You're a f***ing liar. I can see everything. You called her,' she screams, apparently referring to messages between Clarke and Edwards.

At one point, Stefanovic's wife Jasmine eventually steps in and grabs her distressed sister by the arm and drags her away.

Jasmine can be heard saying: 'Get away with Karl, get away with Karl.'

As she is led away, Yarbrough can be heard crying as she turns to Clarke and howls: 'I f**king hate you.'

Clarke then tries to follow Yarbrough before he unleashes a wave of fury at Stefanovic, seemingly because he is walking away with the two sisters.

'Karlos, I can tell you now c**t, don't you f**king walk away. She can, she can punch me, but you, you c**t,' Clarke says.

This comment sparks fury from Yarbrough, who defends her brother-in-law before slapping Clarke repeatedly in the face.

Stefanovic and Bell can be heard telling the couple to stop, which falls on deaf ears.

The ugly altercation unfolded in front of young children nearby, according to stunned witnesses.

A remorseful Clarke has since taken full responsibility for what happened.

'I'm absolutely gutted I've put people I hold in the highest regard in this position. My actions in the lead-up to this altercation were nothing short of shameful and regrettable,' he told The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.

'I am shattered that because of my actions I've drawn women of class and integrity, and my mates, into this situation.'

Daily Mail Australia has contacted all other parties involved for comment.
