Hard-partying Cara Delevingne claims to have turned over a new leaf since she hit 30 last August.
That month, the supermodel sparked concern for her well-being after she looked to have overdone the revelling at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada. She was pictured returning home to Los Angeles in a jittery condition.
Now, she's 'taking the time to heal and focus'. She says: 'My 20s were brilliant, but there were a lot of different things I wanted to focus on. There was a part of me that still felt, like, I was insecure in my teenage years and questioning and a bit of, like, self-doubt all the time.'
The godchild of Dame Joan Collins adds: 'I'm a lot more gentle with myself and nice to myself, and something's changed this year, for sure.'
He's not the sort of man who lets much impede his path to victory, which is why, aged 38, he has been crowned Formula 1 world champion a record-equalling seven times, amassed a £300million fortune and bagged a knighthood.
But Lewis Hamilton may allow himself to indulge in a particularly wide victory grin following his latest tussle with neighbours in Kensington, West London, where, six years ago, he paid £18million for a townhouse.
Since then, Hamilton's agents have submitted 20 planning applications on his behalf, as he's sought permission for all manner of improvements to bring the property up to standards commensurate with his superstar status. These have included the installation of metal entrance gates and the demolition of a summerhouse and the erection of a swanky replacement.
Neighbours were particularly offended by his summerhouse plans which would, it was alleged, result in their 'working and living conditions [being] seriously disturbed'.
But arguably nothing has outraged them more than what they perceive as the threat to twin poplar trees which tower above Hamilton's gardens — 'magnificent 'heritage' trees . . . easily identifiable upon approach to Heathrow', according to one local.
But the next howl to be heard in Hamilton's garden will be that of chain-saws 'pruning' the poplars. The council makes two conditions: that 'noisy operations' are avoided on Saturdays 'unless essential', while 'no works should take place on Sundays'.
Shouldn't be too onerous for Hamilton, who owns a penthouse in New York and a residence in Monte Carlo. He tends to be busy on Sundays.
Forget The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston has officially become the baby manager. The Eton and Cambridge-educated actor, 42, has been spotted for the first time since he became a father. His fiancee, Fresh Meat star Zawe Ashton, gave birth to their first child last October.
Thor star Hiddleston, who previously went out with Taylor Swift, wore a cap as he pushed a pram near their home in North London.
He and Ashton, 38, have yet to disclose the name or sex of their child. The couple first met in 2019 when they played husband and wife in a revival of Harold Pinter's Betrayal.
Jim Carter has failed to stop South Hampstead High School from creating a court for padel — a mixture of tennis and squash — near the London home he shares with wife Imelda Staunton. Last year, I disclosed that the actor, Carson in Downton Abbey, had objected to the plans. Camden council has now granted permission.
Harry Styles is sitting pretty after his fledgling beauty firm, Pleased As, made a profit of almost £1million in its first year. The As It Was singer, 29, launched Pleasing, his 'life brand', in 2021 with a range of nail polishes, serums and lip oils. While many new businesses take years to turn a profit, Pleased As's inaugural accounts show the products have been winners in the competitive cosmetics world. It made a profit of £957,475 in 2021. It paid a corporation tax bill to HMRC of more than £300,000.
Glyndebourne festival boss Gus Christie has lost his leading lady. I hear his wife, opera star Danielle de Niese, has pulled out of her long-scheduled role as Blanche in June's production of Poulenc's Dialogue des Carmélites, amid great mystery.
'It's baffling why Danielle would withdraw from her home production,' one opera buff tells me. 'What could be more important?' The soprano, 43, who became Christie's second wife in 2009, has been replaced by Sally Matthews.
A Glyndebourne spokesman will say only: 'Danni has withdrawn from the production owing to a conflicting engagement.'
Christie, who has four sons from his first marriage, fell in love with De Niese when she played Cleopatra at Glyndebourne in 2005. She returned to the stage in East Sussex in 2015 within weeks of having their son, Bacchus. In 2020, she had their second child, Sheherazade.
David Cameron is mourning his godmother, Lady (Fiona) Aird, a lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret, who has died aged 88. Her husband, Sir Alastair Aird, was the Queen Mother’s private secretary for 40 years. After his death in 2009, aged 78, from a cancer linked to asbestos, a coroner ruled that he was likely to have been exposed to the poison while working at Clarence House, the royal residence. ‘I am going to record a verdict that he died of an industrial disease,’ the coroner said. Lady Aird said Sir Alistair had always believed ‘he’d been ‘exposed to asbestos at Clarence House’, but she ruled out taking any legal action against the Royal Family. Princess Margaret was godmother to the couple’s elder daughter, Caroline.
