Boris Becker's ex-wife Lilly has spoken out about her split from the tennis ace.
The former couple parted ways in 2018 after nine years of marriage and have a son Amadeus, 11.
In a new interview with Hello!, Lilly, 45, revealed how she and Boris, 53, 'truly tried' to make their relationship work, and how, three years after their split, she is ready to find love again.
Reflecting on her marriage breakdown, the Dutch model said: 'Sadly, Boris and I cannot make it work – that is the reality, we have truly tried.
'I am not full of regrets as he gave me so many wonderful memories and also our incredible son. For that alone I will be truly grateful – you learn and move on. Take the chapter and use it.'
Wimbledon champ Boris has moved on from his estranged wife and is in a relationship with Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro.
And Lilly said she would like to find love again. 'I am emotionally ready, so it's just trying to find the right one. Don't we all long for that fairytale ending?', she added.
The model also spoke proudly about their son Amadeus as she revealed he 'definitely has his father's genes' and is 'very interested in running and tennis'.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lilly, who is set to turn 45 this week, revealed she was planning on having a small intimate dinner for her birthday after Covid ruined her plans to host a 150-person 'white party' in the garden of her home.
Lilly's candid talk about the breakdown of her marriage comes a year after she hit out at Boris' girlfriend Lilian in a now deleted Instagram post.
In a furious rant, the Dutch model urged Lilian to 'step away from my child' after she was seen with her son Amadeus in Ibiza last July.
Lilly implored to Lilian: 'Let me put it his way so you understand: during the period of #corona! You're the 2nd girl within 7 months to make breakfast - pizza- pancakes for my son!
'No girl - as a mother please respect my son and go take pics with @borisbeckerofficial in your cute bikini and your fabulous body but I beg you step away from my son! (sic)'
Lilly then requested that Lilian 'take Boris' hand' during the trip rather than try and get close with her son.
Referring to her estranged husband, Lilly went on: 'B won't tell you! But I will otherwise you won't get the message! Have a fab holiday - without touching my kid! He's off limits! Period!!' (sic)
MailOnline contacted Boris' representatives at the time for comment.
The former Wimbledon champion split from model Lilly in 2018 after a 13-year relationship and nine years of marriage, and it is understood that they are still in the 'final stages' of divorcing.
In May 2019, the pair reached an agreement after becoming embroiled in a family court dispute over their son Amadeus. Lilly reflected on 2018 after parting ways from her husband of nine years during an interview with Günther Jauch on Germany's RTL.
She admitted the couple will never rekindle their relationship, insisting: 'It's really over between us. 2018 was the worst time of my 42 years. He so grossly disappointed me.'
Speaking on the negative effects of being in the limelight, she went on: 'What makes it so bad is that everything is happening in public now. But I married a public man, maybe it's part of it.'
'Unfortunately, [a reunion would] not work anymore. Too much has happened. I do not want to, he does not, and that's fine. It's really over between us.'
