Will Davison and Riana Crehan announce they're expecting a baby

Motorsport power couple Will Davison and Riana Crehan have revealed the exciting news they're expecting their first baby.

The driver and the TV commentator made the announcement on Channel Seven's The Morning Show on Friday.

'We're having a baby! You're the first to know,' Riana told hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies.

'I thought about doing a dancing performance in a red jumpsuit but then Rhianna did that on Monday at the Super Bowl, so Larry and Kylie was the next option.'

The expectant couple also showed the presenters an ultrasound photo.

'Looking at the ultrasound, it looks like the pedal action,' host Kylie joked.

'Yes, it is double clutching?' Larry added.

Mother-to-be Riana laughed and said that was 'the first thing' her husband said when he saw the baby on the ultrasound.

'We are in the doctor’s office looking at these beautiful images of our baby and the first words out of Will's mouth are, "The baby looks like it's in a perfect racing position,"' she said.

Her husband agreed, adding: 'It looks like it's sitting in an F1 car. The legs are already on the pedals. That's a worry - not that I'm encouraging that.'

Larry asked the couple if they knew the sex of their baby, and if they would be doing a 'race track reveal' involving a car billowing either pink or blue smoke.

'No, we are not doing the big burnout with red or blue - I mean pink or blue. We are keeping the one big surprise in life for that time in the middle of the year,' Will said.

As the F1 Australian Grand Prix takes place at the end of March, Riana was asked if she plans to work trackside as a pit-lane reporter while carrying the baby.

'Yeah, my plan is to keep working,' she said.

'I love my job and I will keep working as long as I can, but I might have to run my zip down a little bit like Rihanna did at the Super Bowl and we will see what happens. We don't want to make too many serious plans.'

Will, who is a two-time winner of Bathurst, is getting ready for the upcoming season where he will be driving the No. 17 Ford Mustang for Dick Johnson Racing.

The couple got married in 2020 and live together on the Gold Coast.
