LIAM ANDREWS

DEXTER SOUTHFIELD

The junior two-way linemen was named both the NEPSAC and Evergreen League Lineman of the Year in helping to lead Dexter Southfield to a league title. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder earned Under Armour All-American honors and is rated as a 4-star recruit by several recruiting services.

HARRY BERTOS

BROOKS

The senior center back was the boys soccer MVP of the Independent School League as he scored 15 goals and added 11 assists for 26 points. Bertos was the NEPSAC Class B Player of the Year and earned All-New England honors. For his career, the two-time ISL All-Star amassed 18 goals and 14 assists. Bertos will play college soccer at the University of Washington.

BRIAN BRENNAN

BB&N

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound junior center/offensive guard was one of the keys to BB&N’s successful ground attack. A first-team all-NEPSAC and all-ISL selection, Brennan carries an impressive 4.25 GPA. A member of the lacrosse and track team, Brennan has already generated Div. 1 college interest and received a scholarship offer from UMass.

JANE BRESNAHAN

NEWTON COUNTRY DAY

The Eastern Independent League field hockey Player of the Year for the second straight year, the senior center midfielder helped lead her team to a 15-4 record. She also plays lacrosse. A member of the Patriot Field Hockey Club, Bresnahan will play field hockey at Villanova.

EVAN BUDDENHAGEN

PINGREE

The Eastern Independent League golfer of the year averaged 35.2 strokes per 9-hole matches and was the first flight medalist at the EIL Championships. The back-to-back Essex County Men’s club championship winner was named Essex County Player of the Year. The National Honor Society member will attend Kennesaw State University.

ROGAN CARDINAL

PINGREE

The senior left wing was Most Valuable Player in the Eastern Independent League after scoring 17 goals and adding seven assists in leading his team to the league title. The first-team all-NEPSAC performer is an honors student with a 3.3 GPA. A three-year starter and captain-elect for the lacrosse team, Cardinal will play at St. Lawrence University.

KATA CLARK

BROOKS

A two-time Independent School League All-Star, Clark was league MVP after going undefeated in dual meets for a second straight season. Clark captured the NEPSAC Div. 2 race after winning the Div. 3 title a year earlier as a freshman. Clark runs for the New England Elite Track Club in the offseason.

BRENDAN COAKLEY

RIVERS

The 6-foot, 275-pound junior earned all-ISL and NEPSAC first team honors in helping his team go 8-1 and capture the Moose Curtis Bowl. The honor roll student in each of his last three years also plays lacrosse.

JACKSON CONNERS-MCCARTHY

BROOKS

The 6-foot-2 senior wide receiver/linebacker was a key part in Brooks’ dramatic rise from a 1-8 to a bowl championship. Conners-McCarthy amassed 432 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns to go with four sacks and a pair of interceptions. A two-time all-ISL and NEPSAC selection, Conners-McCarthy finished his career with 1,219 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. He recently committed to play college football at Bryant.

XAVIER COPELAND

GOVERNOR’S ACADEMY

The 6-foot-1, 290-pound defensive tackle had 65 tackles and four sacks in nine games on his way to earning to all-ISL and all-NEPSAC Class A first-team honors. Copeland was an honorable mention ISL selection as a junior and was named a Northeastern Conference All-Star during his time at Beverly.

BRETT ELLIOTT

BB&N

The junior tight end/defensive end earned all-ISL and all-NEPSAC honors after a solid two-way campaign for the Knights. A captain-elect for the 2023 season, Elliott also plays lacrosse. A top recruit in next year’s class, Elliott has already received offers from Boston College, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Nebraska, UMass, Yale and UConn.

OWEN FITZSIMMONS

NOBLE AND GREENOUGH

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior offensive lineman was the team’s co-Most Valuable Player after being named first-team All-NEPSAC as well as all-ISL. A three-sport athlete, Fitzsimmons plays baseball and wrestles at the varsity level. He is actively involved in community service and was elected onto the Disciplinary Committee.

BRIAN GAMBLE

BRIMMER AND MAY

Gamble earned his third appearance on the Boston Herald All-Scholastic as he went undefeated during the season and won the NEPTSA Div. 4 championship for the third straight year. The MVP of the MBIL, Gamble set three course records and helped his team win the league title for the third straight year. The high honor roll student will run cross-country and track at Yale.

GAVIN HATFIELD

LAWRENCE ACADEMY

The senior rushed for 603 yards and seven touchdowns, while adding 22 receptions for 314 yards and four touchdowns in just five games before suffering a broken collarbone. The 5-foot-10, 195-pounder was an all-ISL as well as a NEPSAC first-time All-Star. He is currently undecided about his college destination.

JAKE HOLTSCHLAG

MILTON ACADEMY

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound senior quarterback completed 95-of-157 passes for 1,520 and 14 touchdowns in earning all-ISL and NEPSAC honors. For his career, Holtschlag completed 159-of-265 passes for 2,460 yards and 25 touchdowns. A member of the lacrosse team, Holtschlag will play football at Georgetown, where he will be in the McDonough School of Business.

KAAN INANOGLU

MILTON ACADEMY

The junior striker/center midfielder was named Offensive Player of the Year in the ISL after leading the league in scoring with 19 goals and three assists. Inanoglu was also named a first-team NEPSAC All-Star. The high honor roll student wants to play soccer in the Atlantic Coast Conference and major in business.

KATE JIANG

BB&N

The senior setter registered 585 assists on her way to being named the ISL’s Most Valuable Player for girls volleyball. A two-time Boston Herald All-Scholastic, Jiang has amassed 1,243 assists in her career. In the offseason, Jiang competes as part of the SMASH Volleyball club.

SURI KAUTZ

CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL OF WESTON

The sophomore was named Most Valuable Player in the MBIL after helping her team win the league’s girls cross-country title. Kautz broke the Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall course record, one of five she broke during the season, and took second at the Div. 4 NEPSAC championship.

MADDIE LANDERS

PINGREE

The senior midfielder was named the girls soccer MVP of the Eastern Independent League after scoring 23 goals and adding 11 assists. Landers was also tabbed as the NEPSAC Class B Player of the Year. Over the course of her three-year career, the BC-bound Landers tallied 46 goals and 32 assists for 78 points. In the offseason, she is part of the New England Futbol Club Girls Academy.

MICHAEL LANDOLFI

LAWRENCE ACADEMY

The junior quarterback completed 77 percent of his passes for 1,632 yards and 18 touchdowns as well as 583 rushing yards and eight scores for the Todd Marble Bowl champions. A year earlier while at Hanover, Landolfi earned All-Scholastic honors as he threw for 2,412 yards and 32 scores.

KALYL LINDSEY

RIVERS

The senior standout caught 23 passes, four of them for touchdowns, as Rivers captured a NEPSAC bowl title. Lindsey also registered 27 tackles and picked off a pass. For his career, Lindsey amassed 82 catches for 1,045 yards and 18 touchdowns to go along with 65 tackles and three interceptions. Lindsey will play college football at Brown University.

KAYLEE LITTLE

BRIMMER AND MAY

The senior forward/midfielder was the girls soccer co-MVP of the Independent Girls Conference after scoring 21 goals and adding nine assists for 30 points. A varsity soccer player for seven years, Little ended her career with 52 goals and 28 assists. In the offseason, Little has competed with Juventus Academy Boston DPL, Valeo FC and the Newton Girls Soccer Club.

CATHERINE LYNCH

MONTROSE

The co-MVP of the IGC in girls soccer, the junior midfielder earned all-NEPSAC Class D honors in leading her team to the NEPSAC Class D title. On the season, Lynch amassed 19 goals and nine assists for 28 points. Lynch has a 4.5 GPA. She also competes in lacrosse and indoor track with the NEFC DPL 2006.

BO MACCORMACK

BB&N

The sophomore running back earned all-ISL and NEPSAC honors after rushing for more than 1,300 yards in helping his team qualify for a NEPSAC bowl. The team MVP, MacCormack has already been named a captain-elect for next year. A two-time ISL All-Star, MacCormack earned Dual County League All-Star while at Westford Academy.

MEG MADISON

WINSOR

One of the premier cross-country runners in New England, Madison was named the MVP of the Eastern Independent League. The junior finished sixth in the Northeast Regionals, then placed in the top 30 at Nationals. Madison was the Gatorade Cross-Country Runner of the Year as a sophomore. A multi-sport athlete, Madison was the EIL Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year last spring.

LAYLA MANISCALCO

CHAPEL HILL CHAUNCY HALL

The senior outside hitter was named volleyball MVP in the Independent Girls Conference. Maniscalco recorded 197 aces, 229 kills, 360 digs and 263 service returns in helping her team go 18-0 in league play and advance to the NEPSAC semifinals. A two-time league MVP, Maniscalco had 326 aves, 339 kills, 481 digs and 357 service returns in that time frame. An excellent student with a 4.5 GPA, Maniscalco was accepted early decision to Northeastern’s D’Amore-McKim School of Business and plans on concentrating in International Business.

CAITLIN MARA

BB&N

The junior center back helped her team capture both the ISL and NEPSAC Class A championship. The league MVP scored eight goals and added three assists on the season. A two-time ISL and NEPSAC first-time All-Star, Mara has been a part of three Class A championships. Mara has verbally committed to the University of North Carolina.

ALLIE MOORE

BERWICK

The MVP of the Eastern Independent League for girls soccer, Moore posted 12 shutouts and finished with a 0.76 goals against average. The junior achieved high honors in both her freshman and sophomore years. In the offseason, Moore competes as part of the Seacoast United Girls Academy team.

MOLLY NYE

MIDDLESEX

The field hockey MVP in the Independent School League, the junior center midfielder scored 19 goals and added seven assists in helping her team to a 14-1-1 record and a berth in the NEPSAC Class B finals. Nye competes with the Wizards FHC in the offseason. She has already committed to Princeton University.

SAMSON OKUNLOLA

THAYER ACADEMY

A two-time ISL Lineman of the Year, Okunlola was the 2022 recipient of ISL Darren Gallup League MVP Award. Nicknamed the Pancake Honcho, the five-star recruit was the 2022 NEPSAC Player of the Year. The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder was ranked among the top 20 recruits in the nation and was the NEPSAC New England wrestling champion. Okunlola will be play college football at the University of Miami.

TORIN PELTON-FLAVIN

CONCORD ACADEMY

The senior was the Eastern Independent League Boys Cross-Country Runner of the Year after going undefeated during the regular season. A NEPSTA All-Star, Pelton-Flavin was an honorable mention EIL basketball selection. He is currently undecided about college.

QUINCY PICKETT

ST. SEBASTIAN’S

One of the premier defensive linemen in the Independent School League, the 6-foot-1 ½, 270-pound senior recorded 55 tackles, seven sacks, 23 pressures and three forced fumbles in earning ISL Lineman of the Year honors. A first team, all-NEPSAC Class A performer, Pickett ended his career with 87 tackles and nine sacks. A member of the National Honor Society, Pickett is on the school’s wrestling team.

EMILIA POWDERLY

NEWTON COUNTRY DAY

The sophomore setter was named MVP of the Eastern Independent League after amassing 426 assists, 211 service points, 103 aces and 60 kills. Powderly is also a member of the school’s tennis team. In the offseason, she competes for SMASH Volleyball Club 16s Sparks

ANDREW RAPPLEYEA

MILTON ACADEMY

The senior tight end/linebacker was named MVP of his team after registering 23 catches for 499 yards and six scores. He was just as dominant on the defensive side, recording 45 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions. One of the top tight end prospects in the country, Rappleyea will play college football at Penn State.

MATT SHAW

GOVERNOR’S ACADEMY

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker/running back was named co-MVP of the Independent School League after helping his team earn a share of the league title and advance to a NEPSAC bowl game. Shaw rushed for 650 yards, added 150 receiving yards and finished with 15 touchdowns as well as 87 tackles. A two-time team captain, Shaw also plays lacrosse.

ZION SIMMONS

ST. SEBASTIAN’S

The senior wide receiver/defensive back caught 35 passes for 628 yards and three touchdowns. He also registered 38 tackles, eight pass breakups, five interceptions and a fumble recovery in helping the Arrows earn a share of the Independent School League title. For his career, Simmons caught 62 passes for 1,148 yards and 31 touchdowns to go along with 96 tackles and six interceptions. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a two-time basketball captain.

NATHAN STARHILL

GANN

The Mass. Bay Independent League’s Most Valuable Player in boys soccer, the senior center midfielder/center back was part of a team which went 31-7-3 over the last three years. He was lauded for playing out of position at times for the benefit of the team. In the offseason, Starhill competes for SFC 2004/2005 Blue.

ELIZA TEPLOW

NOBLE AND GREENOUGH

The senior netminder was co-Most Valuable Player in the Independent School League. Teplow was also named to the USSR New England All-Region and All-NEPSAC teams. A member of the basketball team, Teplow has received several academic honors and will play college soccer at Northeastern University.

RAYDEN WAWERU

BROOKS

The senior safety led the ISL with seven interceptions as he helped lead his team to a NEPSAC bowl title. The 6-foot, 200-pounder was named the Most Improved after his freshman year. Waweru will play college football at Georgetown University.

HUDSON WEIDMAN

PINGREE

A two-time Herald All-Scholastic selection, Weidman threw for 1,906 yards and 26 touchdowns and was team MVP. The junior has thrown for 3,472 yards and 53 touchdowns in 16 games on his way to a pair of all-Evergreen League honors. The member of the baseball team is a recipient of the school’s Mathematics Departmental Award.

TAKAI WHITMORE

DEXTER SOUTHFIELD

The senior defensive back earned all-NEPSAC and Evergreen League honors after registering 40 tackles, eight pass breakups and not allowing a touchdown. For his career, Whitmore finished with 120 tackles and six interceptions. The high academic honors student will play college football at Bucknell.

MATT WING

MIDDLESEX

The Independent School League boys cross-country runner of the year was undefeated during the regular season and was the ISL overall champion. He was the 2021 NEPSAC Div. 2 champion and was part of a winning 4×400-meter relay team. The high honor student was fourth at the Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 1,600. He will run cross-country and track at Brown.
