BOYS BASKETBALL
Senior Jacob Briggs poured in 25 points, helping to propel Middleboro (16-6) during a convincing 74-30 romp of nonleague foe Dighton-Rehoboth. … Brian Cloonan and Henry Bickford scattered 17 points each, while Jackson Shaw chipped in with seven points and 11 rebounds as Needham bested BC High, 62-43. … Hunter Matteson erupted for 30 points to imprint his name onto Dartmouth’s (16-4) 1,000 point scorer list and help his team close out the regular season with a 74-51 win over Dennis-Yarmouth.
Mavrick Bourdeau dropped 28 points, and Aiden MacLeod tacked on 12 points as Shawsheen (12-8) edged Essex Tech 57-53 in Commonwealth Athletic Conference action.
Jayden Costa-Haywood (27 points) and Matt Greenspoon (15 points) reached double figures for Stoughton in a 79-53 win over Milton in the Moscardelli Tournament championship.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Brooke Pulpi collected a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, earning MVP honors for Reading (11-9) in a 61-22 victory over Beverly in the Goodhue Tournament championship. … In the consolation game, Faith Newton (20 points) and Caitlin Reilly (19 points) put in tremendous offensive performances for North Reading (15-5) in a 55-37 win over Essex Tech.
Kat Cheesbro knocked down 25 points, while Abby Zuber added 12 points as Dartmouth downed Acton-Boxboro 52-45 in a consolation matchup in the Spartan Classic.
Nellie Chan and Mariah Lorenzo recorded 11 points apiece, while Felicia Melendez finished with nine points as Greater Lowell (17-3) pulled away in the second half for a 52-27 win over Lowell Catholic in the Skaff Tournament.
Cam Collins (23 points) and Kailey Sullivan (17 points) handled the bulk of the scoring for Foxboro (19-1) in a 61-53 victory over Brookline in the Warrior Classic Championship. … Sam Ryan tallied 13 points to steer Tewksbury (9-10) to a 35-27 win over Braintree in the consolation game.
Ella Getz registered 10 points, and Annika Martins had seven points as Wayland (16-4) won a nail-biter against Algonquin, 41-39, to move on to the Westboro Invitational Championship game.
Sydney Blaney, Maddie Hermenau and Zariah Ottley paced things offensively with 17 points each as Rockland (18-2) defeated nonleague opponent North Quincy, 63-55. … Nikki Brown scored 17 points, and Jamie Quinn had 11 points as Dedham (5-15) ended its regular season with a 57-30 win over Amesbury. … Alyvia Peña and Savannah Scali drained 28 points each to power Burlington in a 61-48 win against Waltham. … Korynne Holden and Leah Sylvain put up 14 points apiece as Westport (16-4) rolled to a 51-26 win over Wareham.

Senior Jake Hemingway notched a pair of goals and tacked on an assist, as Marshfield went on to top Waltham, 3-1, in a nonleague contest. … Noah Thorpe (two goals) buried the eventual game-winning tally with 2:37 left in regulation, as Concord-Carlisle knocked off Plymouth North in a 2-0 thriller. … Mikey Holgerson and Jack Hayes got the goals for Winthrop (16-3-1) in a 2-0 win over Dedham. … Michael Bourgeois tallied a goal and an assist to lead Malden Catholic (6-10-3) to a 3-1 win over Masconomet.
Timmy Ward notched a hat trick amid a well-balanced attack, helping Norwell (20-1) secure Newburyport Bank Classic Fournier division championship with a 9-1 win over Lowell.
Landon Connor struck for two goals, pacing Auburn-Millbury toward a 3-2 win over Sandwich in the Jeff Hayes Memorial Tournament championship.
Brady Bullock tallied two goals for St. Mary’s (Lynn) as the Spartans advanced to the Pope Francis Tournament championship game with a 4-0 win over Central Catholic.
GIRLS HOCKEY
Maggie Pierce scored two goals, and Ang Castino earned her 13th shutout in net for St. Mary’s (Lynn) in a 4-0 win over Malden Catholic in the Hingham Showcase.
Center Gianna Bonfilio found the net twice and provided an assist, while left winger Jayda Hayes scored a goal and dished three assists as Reading (12-5-2) blanked Arlington Catholic 5-0 in a nonleague game.
Emma Holmes dialed up four goals, leading Winthrop (18-0) past Beverly/Danvers 6-3 in Northeastern Conference play to end the regular season undefeated for a second straight year.
FOOTBALL
The Eastern Massachusetts Interscholastic Football Officials (EMAIFO) is offering football official training for the 2023 season.
