A Sydney millionaire has shared the 'best advice ever' on how he was able to afford his $16million luxury property.
Popular Aussie influencer Jamie Zhu, 28, interviewed Justin Doobov, the chief executive officer of Intelligent Finance, at his home in the affluent suburb of Point Piper in Sydney's east.
Zhu shared a video of the friendly chat with his 2.2million TikTok followers on Tuesday with the caption 'asking Sydney millionaires how they got rich'.
The 28-year-old is seen ringing the doorbell of the Wolseley Road property before asking Mr Doobov how he achieved living in such a nice home.
'Working 18 hours a day, seven days a week', Mr Doobov replied.
Mr Doobov told Zhu he runs his finance company and started in the industry 22 years ago after studying finance and accounting. He also had a background in engineering.
Zhu then asks Mr Doobov to recommend wealth creation strategies to people wanting to live in a house like his.
His simple tip: 'You either earn more or spend less.'
'Buy the cheapest car that your ego can afford,' he added.
Zhu joked that he was 'screwed' because his ego would not let him drive anything below an Audi RS3 - a 2023 model has a starting price of $88,811.
Mr Doobov then invited Zhu on a tour of his multi-million dollar home, showing the Youtuber his luxury cars, the theatre room - complete with theatre lounges, an air hockey table and a foosball table - and the home's outdoor entertaining area.
Mr Doobov then offers his sage advice for any young Australian beginning their own entrepreneurial journey.
'Failure is not an option. You are going to get knocked down. You'll win as long as you keep on getting up,' he said.
'I worked three to four jobs at a time and ran so many different businesses, I have the money now because I've built the business.
'I saved money over time and invested it so that now my decision is not can I afford it but what colour do I want it in.'
Mr Doobov reflected on the difficulty of making his first million dollars and explained his focus at first was on looking after customers and not making a profit.
'I always say the first mil is the hardest,' he said.
'You start trying to make the first 100,000 and then it goes to a mil. If you try to make a mil, you'll take too many risks.
'When I set the business up it was all about building the business and not worrying about profit for the first two to three years. I just wanted to focus on looking after customers.'
The video has received over 34,500 likes and more than 250 comments, with many praising the millionaire for his sound advice and humble attitude.
'Best Advice ever... It really helps..."Focus about Looking after The Customer", I love that point,' one person commented.
'Very down to earth wealthy guy, love to see this type of hard earned richness,' another wrote.
'Good man, humble - can tell he worked hard and takes none of it for granted,' a third person commented.
Another person said Mr Doobov was 'incredibly real' and there was a clear difference between his advice and the tips and tricks offered by 'course selling gurus'.
A fourth person joked: 'The kind of rich people I wanna be friends with.'
