Television star and Thighmaster queen Suzanne Somers lived in her sprawling hillside Palm Spring, California mansion since 1993 when she snapped it up for $190,000.
But on Monday PageSix reported the Three's Company bombshell, 74, recently sold the impressive home for the asking price of $8.5M.
The publication talked to the actress who said she had spiritually said goodbye to the home that has 100 stairs. She also noted that the unusual property is no longer a fit for her after she fell there last year and hurt her neck, requiring surgery.
The wellness expert shares the home with her producer husband Alan Hamel, 84, whom she has been wed to since 1977 after they met in 1968.
The home was listed in January 2021.
Somers told the publication that she was ready to move on after an accident last year. When she was still getting over a fractured hip, she fell down the stairs and hurt her neck, which required surgery.
Now she is happy to say farewell to the place. 'It sold because I finally let it go — emotionally, spiritually and physically,' she said. 'It was not the right home anymore.'
The author of Gut Renew 30-Day Challenge added they will stay in on the compound, which has five separate villas, until September.
They have been working on a new house nearly which she calls an 'ecological oasis.'
'We’re using this new construction as a new opportunity [to make] everything as green as possible,' Hamel said.
'Even though I am not one of those "greeniacs," we’re making sure the air quality is balanced and perfect, and even the drywall doesn’t have all those chemicals.'
There will be solar power, an organic garden, and other eco amenities, said the publication.
And there will be 'gun mounts everywhere,' joked Suzanne. Earlier this year a naked trespasser came into their home when they were shooting a Facebook Live show.
But Hamel was able to diffuse the situation and get the mad out. The incident could be heard live on their show, scaring listeners.
The new home they are moving into will be smaller than what they just sold, but the power couple is fine with that: 'We're going to give parties, it’s a party house, a very sexy house.'
And there will be a 'passion pit.'
'When Alan and I were falling in love,' she said, he was living on an 'old house boat' that had a carpeted area in front of a fireplace where they made love. They tried to set up the same scene in their house, and will do the same at the new dwelling.
Somers has been trying to sell the home for years. She first listed the palace for $14.5million in 2017.
The look of the mega spread is eclectic with different textures such as rock and stucco that makes it stand out among the modern homes in the Palm Springs area.
It also offers a stunning view of the valley below where many of the four-star mega resorts and golf courses are situated.
Palm Springs is best known as the stomping grounds of Rat pack members Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
The property is unusual because there are five villas near each other with plenty of outdoor space.
And there is plenty of land all around the homes. The property sits on 28 acres and is at the base of Mt. San Jacinto.
There is one main home that is the biggest of all with 7,279 square feet and seven bedrooms with 10 bathrooms.
There is an open living room that has high ceilings, large windows that look out at the desert landscape, and a chandelier.
The kitchen is large and ideal for a chef with long counters and a generous island in the middle.
It is where Suzanne - who competed on the 20th season of Dancing With the Stars in 2015 - has hosted many of her cooking shows for her popular podcast along with members of her family as well Hamel.
The dining room is spacious and looks as if it could hold a 10-person table easily.
To the side is a fireplace and in another section, a mini bar perfect to keep those cocktails flowing during a late night dinner with pals.
According to page New York Post, there is a 'secret 2,000-bottle wine cellar.'
The master bedroom is built for a queen with enough room for a king sized bed and a mini living room.
There is also a patio that includes an outdoor shower so one can get clean while checking out the lush valley below with its green trees.
Also on the sprawling property is two room home which is called The Rock House where Suzanne has said she likes to spent time meditating and doing yoga; the star is still in top shape at the age of 74.
It was designed by architect Albert Frey and has two rooms; also on site is a serene 'meditation garden.'
Suzanne and Alan have recently moves to a smaller home in the Palm Springs area. In 2019 they bought a 4,800-square-foot home for $2.35million.
As far as her health, she has talked about it on her Facebook Live show.
She added: 'As most of you know, I have been struggling for the better part of the year with a fractured hip, and then Alan and I took an unfortunate fall while coming down the stairs at our home.
'I had an intense amount of pain after the fall that was not resolving – even after having tequila!'
After several scans, 'it was determined I had 2 vertebrae out of place which was causing pressure on nerves and creating that tremendous pain.'
She said the good news was that she had neck surgery to correct the issues.
'And now I am on the mend! I need a bit more time to recover before I can join you again at the bar for our virtual cocktail parties.
'In the meantime, we will keep the sales going on our site. Watch for posts and special announcements on SuzanneSomers.com, and my accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. As always, I so appreciate your love and support. Be back soon! Love, Suzanne.'
Somers' most recent book is A New Way to Age: The Most Cutting-Edge Advances in Antiaging.
