The Riviera Mayas newest all-inclusive has all of the amenities youve come to love at a beachfront resort. Daybeds dot the sandy shores in front of Sensira Resort & Spa. Youll find a pool to match your energy, whether thats lazing in the sun or spiking a volleyball. Plus, you can order endless frozen margaritas and fresh ceviche to scoop up with tortilla chips.
But Sensiras debut also comes with a few unexpected and playful surprises, including the resorts very own zipline that gives guests an aerial view of the sprawling property and a nice glimpse of Petempich Bay. (For thrillseekers looking to continue the adventure with an excursion, Xcarets nearby Xplor theme park has seven ziplines totaling 2.4 miles that soar above the jungle).
As travelers emerge from their COVID cocoons and embark on international travel, the 359-room resorts entertaining amenities deliver some much-needed levity. In addition to the zipline, Sensira also has a miniature golf course with jungle views, a movie theater that shows family-friendly flicks, a mechanical bull inside a Western-themed steakhouse, climbing walls and a grid of trampolines in the kids club.
A top-notch culinary program also helps set Sensira apart from other all-inclusives in the Riviera Maya. Galeria Des Sens, an adults-only restaurant with an atmosphere inspired by the Louvre, is led by Chef John Bertrand. From Guadalajara, Chef Bertrands seasonal eight-course menus are highly creative with dishes like oysters that come with a smoke show and gold-dusted chocolate desserts formed in superhero molds.
In all, the resort has 13 restaurants and bars, including three beach-level restaurants that make for great dinner spots: La Tentazione, which serves Northern Italian cuisine, La Finca de Ana, a Mexican restaurant with a traditional, gourmet menu and Rodeo Grill, the Western steakhouse.
Guests here have their pick of pools, too, which include an ocean-front infinity pool and hot tub and an adults-only pool with a glass wall perfect for underwater, mermaid-like selfies. The Adventure Club Aquapark, designed for children ages 4 to 12, has a treehouse theme with water slides and a drawbridge.
With a contemporary design that includes cascading rooms jutting out towards the beach, Sensiras slate of guest rooms and suites are categorized with seven different gemstone themes, some like the Sapphire rooms that are well-suited for families and come equipped with bunk beds and others, like the Ruby rooms, designed with honeymooners in mind, with hydromassage tubs, butler service and an aromatherapy menu.
Agatha encompasses the entry-level stays, with contemporary rooms and balconies. The Amber accommodations are adults-only rooms with butler service, hydro-massage tubs, and access to the bar lounge. Many of these rooms are located on the bridge that connects the resort's two main buildings, which gives the illusion of floating above the ocean.
For an extra luxury experience, the resorts Diamond is the presidential suite category, which provides sweeping views of the Mexican Caribbean, two bedrooms with luxe marble and wood finishes, 3.5 bathrooms, living and dining rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and pool table. These presidential suites come with a private terrace that has a pool and whirlpool tub.
To round out a stay here, retreat to the spa for a massage. Treatment rooms are inspired by contemporary artists (think: A Starry Night studio) and locally sourced ingredients like jojoba oil, agave nectar, avocado extract and aloe vera can be incorporated into spa services.
Rates start at $650 a night.
