Katherine Ryan hits back at mum-shamer who criticises her for drinking wine while breast-feeding

Katherine Ryan has hit back at a mum-shamer who posted a critical comment on a snap of the comedian with her newborn daughter, Fenna Grace.

The TV star uploaded a series of photos on Monday documenting her week with her one-month-old and her older children Fred, 18 months, and Violet, 13.

One shot showed the star cuddling her baby daughter as she enjoyed brunch at plush London hotel Claridge's, with a glass of wine on the table in front of her.

Commenting underneath the carousel of photos, one follower wrote: 'Enough with the wine drinking whilst still breast feeding. I couldn't care less about statistics about percentages. Alcohol isn't healthy for adults...nevermind babies.'

Katherine was quick to defend herself though, replying: 'Kera my small children are smart enough to slowly explain to you why it’s fine.'

Katherine posted a photo last week of herself feeding Fenna Grace while toasting the camera with a glass of white wine, which again led to critical comments.

One follower wrote: With all due respect drinking & breastfeeding is the same as drinking while pregnant!'

To which the comedian replied: 'With all due respect you’re speaking out of your a**.'

In her look-back at her week Katherine also included a mention of the heart-stopping moment she locked herself home while her baby daughter was still inside.

This led to an outpouring of comments from her followers about their own parenting mishaps.

The comedian, 39, took to her Instagram story on Friday to share home surveillance footage of when she realised she couldn't get back into her home.

The Masked Singer UK star panicked as she realised she had left her phone and newborn baby inside, while her toddler Fred was with her outside.

Katherine then shared a follow-up video to her Instagram story to reassure concerned fans that her daughter was safe inside at the time.

During the video, the mum-of-three held her baby girl in her arms as she relaxed and told her fans that the baby was 'sleeping in a safe space'.

She also confirmed with her many followers that she could see the baby through the window the entire time.

The initial video was first shared by her partner Bobby Koostra, who took to Instagram to share the clip before he rescued Katherine.

And during the video, Katherine can be seen looking up at the camera as she said, 'I did something really bad', hoping that Bobby would see the live video and come to the rescue.

Her partner then captioned the clip with a funny caption: 'My wife locked the baby in the house to get me home from the golf course immediately.'

After the nightmare incident, Katherine took to her stories to share what some fans had said to her after releasing the video footage.

She said, 'Sorry for posting yesterday’s dramatic video with no resolution. A lot of people, especially Gen Zs, are like, “How did he know you needed rescuing? How did he save you if you didn’t have a phone? What did you do?".

The mum-of-three then referenced her 13-year-old daughter Violet and continued by saying, 'And we asked Violet after showing her the video, “What would you do?” She was like, “Throw a brick through the window.”'
