Billionaire JP McManus’s five-star resort, Adare Manor, in Co Limerick is seeking to be exempt from a new property tax due to be introduced in 2024.

Planning consultants, instructed by Tizzard Holdings, the company that runs the resort, made a submission to Limerick City and County Council, arguing that the entirety of the lands in its ownership at Adare should be excluded.
