'Cart girls' are a growing genre of TikTok user who have been taking over the platform to expose the darker side of golf clubs.
Working in establishments across the US, 'cart girls' are young women who serve drinks to players while they are out on the course.
The role typically pays minimum wage but many boast about the tips they can earn from guests.
And yet, dozens have taken to social media to reveal the seedier side of the job including harassment, groping and lewd comments.
But it is far from a new phenomenon with one former 'cart girl,' who chose to remain anonymous, telling DailyMail.com that she had experienced similar behavior from men when she started working at a course in Connecticut seven years ago.
Speaking about her experience, she said: 'I worked there from the ages of 17 to 19 and had no idea what I was getting myself into. I remember thinking most of the time: "All these guys look like my dad and grandpa, I really hope they don't act like this."
'When you're working the cart, you're essentially alone in an open field with a bunch of men. The least of my problems was guys trying to get me drunk.
'Men tried tugging at my shorts and a lot would hit my butt with their golf club as I walked away. The worst was really old men telling me "what they wanted to do with me."'
In more shocking revelations, the source continued: 'When guys were with their wives, they would wait for them to walk away and then say inappropriate stuff to me. If a man didn't act inappropriately to me, it was super surprising.
'I just couldn't believe so many men act that way toward young girls. It's such a men's environment, they get really confident out there or something.'
'I wish I knew how much that little job would attribute to me not trusting men to this day,' she concluded.
The revelations come as a woman who worked as a beverage attendant at a golf club in Southern California is suing over claims she was subjected to years of sexual harassment and assault by wealthy members and some male staff.
Peyton Stover, from Long Beach, worked at the Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach in Orange County for two years, where she would provide drinks to golfers.
She says they would often grope her and ask her to lift up her shirt.
Stover's suit alleges that after she complained to her supervisor and club manager, they defended the behavior on the grounds that the golfers had paid a premium to become members of the club.
The 26-year-old is seeking $15m in damages from the club where fees are believed to be close to $5,000 a year after a joining fee of up to $10,000.
Here, FEMAIL explores some of the most shocking revelations made by other 'cart girls' on social media.
Cassie Holland
One of the most active 'cart girls' on TikTok is Cassie Holland, who works in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has more than 2.1 million followers.
In one of her more shocking clips uploaded to the platform she revealed that a golfer had tipped her three $100 bills that were ripped in half and told her he would give her the other halves if she met him for a date later that night.
Speaking to camera, Holland, 26, explained that the unidentified guest was from out of town and with his friends, saying was 'being really nice' and 'tipping good.' But then he asked if she would go to dinner with him.
'I was like, "No, that's okay. I can't tonight. I'm busy,"' she recalled. 'He's like, "Well, cancel your plans and come with me." I'm like, "I can't. Thanks for the offer though."'
Holland suggested he go to dinner with his friends, and that's when the man allegedly whipped out the ripped $100 bills.
'He says, "Look, I'll give you these now, and if you meet me in front of this casino at nine, I'll give you the other halves,"' she claimed. 'So clearly he already has this whole idea planned out.'
Holland, who was previously paid just $9 an hour before being put on contract, insisted that she wasn't going to take the money, but when she was waiting on other customers, he placed the torn bills in her drink holder.
'So, now I have this completely useless $300,' she griped. 'Just $300 down the drain that nobody can use because I'm not going.'
She admitted that she was mad at first, but then she realized that she 'didn't really lose anything.'
'He's the dumba** that lost $300,' she said. 'It's not even like I can show up and get the other halves upfront and then leave because he'll probably try to start problems with the golf course. So, now I don't know what to do.
'I wonder if he's ever done this before and if it's worked. Because I can understand once you have the three halves, you probably want the other ones,' she added.
'It's funny because he probably thinks he is a genius, but he really just lost $300 for nothing.'
Molly-Anne Seymour
Another 'cart girl' to tell her story of harassment is Molly-Anne Seymour.
The 24-year-old, from Florida, uploaded a clip as she spoke to camera about the unnerving encounter.
Speaking from her cart, she said: 'Put a finger down if you were at work one day and this guy comes up to you and he buys a drink and everything is good, everything is normal.
'But he then proceeds to drive away, turn around and come back and say to you: "Can I ask you a frisky question?"
'And when I think "frisky question" I think "oh he is going to ask me do I have a boyfriend or something stupid like can I have your number."
'This man goes "what kind of underwear do you have on?" and he looks me dead in the eyes.'
Molly-Anne, who has more than 604,000 followers on TikTok, continued: 'I literally said to him "you need to turn around because I am not answering that."
'So this guy just proceeds to say "come on, just tell me are you wearing a thong? What are you wearing?"'
Having been overwhelmed with the man's repeated advances, Molly-Anne continued: 'So I said "please turn around I am not answering that" and he throws $50 on my cart and drives away.
'I've never seen the man again in my life.'
Ellie Dressler
Ellie Dressler, from Maine, has been documenting her time in the job with a series of videos called 'Ridiculous But True Stories of a Golf Cart Girl.'
In the clips, the 20-year-old candidly reveals the seedier side of the job including comments about her clothes and body, wolf-whistling and even attempts to touch her.
In a video captioned 'Try Again Ted I Dare You,' Ellie, who has more than 59,000 followers, revealed one such encounter.
Speaking to camera from her cart, she states: 'Today this man decided he wanted to grab my a** on the course and I said "no."'
She then recaps the story in more detail: 'Let me back up... so we are going to call this man Ted.
'Throughout the day I had been serving Ted and he had been making very inappropriate comments towards me. They were all pretty harmless but they definitely made me uncomfortable.
'But then on the last time that I went to go and serve Ted, he decides to come up next to me.'
Ellie, who has posted a series of 'cart girl self defense videos,' said that she was able to dodge him at first and served him a drink without issue.
However, she continues: 'Then he makes a comment about my butt - and in the process of making a comment about my butt, he proceeds to try to grab it.
'But little did he know, I trained MMA for three years and so guess what I did? I saw this man coming in and so I grabbed his thumb and I twisted it and I fricking dislocated it.'
She added that in an attempt to defend his actions, the unnamed golf player said that he 'just wanted to give it a little squeeze' and that Ellie 'was here for them.'
Ellie, who said she gets paid a base rate of $16 and works shifts usually between four and six hours long, said that there had been no repercussions to either party's actions.
Mallory Kautz
Another TikToker to create a series of all her unnerving encounters as a 'cart girl' is Mallory Kautz.
The 20-year-old, from Michigan, has posted a collection of clips under the title: 'Things old men have said to me while working at the golf course.'
Posting a video from her car, Mallory, who has a more modest following when compared to that of her fellow 'cart girls,' re-enacted a conversation that she had with one of the visitors to the course.
Speaking as herself, she said: 'So four shots of fireball will be $17 please.'
The customer allegedly responded: 'Can I just give you $150 for a smooch?'
Seemingly not quite knowing how to react, Mallory nervously responded: 'I don't really sell those.'
In other exchanges, when Mallory asked potential customers what they wanted from the cart, they responded with various requests including for 'her heart' as well as simply responding by saying: 'You.'
Cassy Johnson
Cassy Johnson has shared a video to round up a compilation of quotes that she had received while working at a golf course in Missouri.
The TikToker, who has nearly 3,000 followers on the platform, spoke to camera as she quoted from the players she had met at club since working there.
'This guy just said "I can't think of a prettier addition to add to this golf course than you,"' she said speaking to camera.
Separately, she revealed: 'Some guy just came up to me and said "you know, you're wearing black but it's really hot out here."
'I was like "yeah, I'm trying to attract the sun" and he said "well you're attractive enough."'
Sharing another snippet from her various exchanges, Cassy said: 'I just got the typical "if I was 20 years younger, you'd be my wife."'
Cassy shakes her head in apparent disbelief before strongly disagreeing with the sentiment.
Giving an insight into another of her everyday encounters with men at the course, Cassy said: 'This guy's friend was like "Hey, my buddy is pretty cute. They call him magic fingers."'
And Cassy immediately imitates dramatically throwing up.
In the final tidbit she shares with her fans, Cassy says: 'Literally quote, unquote: "You are a pleasant event each summer that we get to come here."'
