A father and young son were pulled from frigid ocean waters by rescue divers near Pacifica Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.

Multiple agencies converged north of Mori Point, a California scenic site, after they received calls of the two relatives “in distress,” around 12:32 p.m., the North County Fire Authority said, according to the Mercury News.

Swimmers brought the pair back to land just west of Sharp Park Golf Course where medics treated them before they were reportedly taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

The father and son are expected to be OK, officials said.

There were no other injuries involved in the rescue.

Fire officials stressed that the ocean currents and low temperatures in the water can rapidly cause a swimmer to fatigue in the ocean, NBC Bay Area reported.

The stretch of coastline recently dealt with tragedy when a 54-year-old man was swept out to sea at Martin’s Beach in November and while his granddaughter was rescued, the 5-year-old later died at the hospital, according to reports.
