Chilling CCTV footage shows the moment a taxi boss was executed in a drive-by shooting on his birthday amid a bitter 'tit for tat' feud between families.
Two thugs have been jailed for murder after Mohammed Haroon Zeb, 39, died after being shot in the head in Dudley, West Midlands, on his birthday in January 2021.
A court heard the taxi firm manager had only just arrived outside his home when he was targeted by thugs Gurdeep Sandhu and Hassan Tasleem, both 23.
Shocking footage shows a Volkswagen Golf slowing down before flashes from the passenger window can be seen as Tasleem fired five shots.
Father-of-four Mohammed was taken to hospital but nothing could be done to save him and he was pronounced dead later that day.
A court heard Mohammed was killed as a result of a three-year 'tit for tat' feud between two groups of families.
The ongoing disagreement had resulted in people being run over with cars, fights in the street and even one man being stabbed to death.
However, Mohammed was not believed to have been actively involved in the feud and detectives say the reason he was targeted remains unknown.
Eight men were charged with conspiracy to murder and went on trial at Loughborough Crown Court last year.
Sandhu and Tasleem, from Dudley, were found guilty of murder, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and perverting the course of justice.
A third man, 21-year-old Shamraz Ali, also from Dudley, was convicted of perverting the course of justice following the three-month trial.
On Thursday Tasleem and Sandhu were both sentenced to life in prison, to serve a minimum of 30 years each while Ali was jailed for five years.
The trial heard the fatal blow came from a revolver which was fired from the passenger seat of the Golf, but the weapon has not been found.
The vehicle was on false plates and went off the radar until it was later recovered in Telford, Shropshire.
Officers then trawled CCTV and scoured social media and phone records to connect the pair to the murder, which happened on January 31, 2021.
Detectives discovered the gun was in the hands of Tasleem at the time while Sandhu was the driver of the car and involved in the plot.
Footage released by police after sentencing also shows the killers changing the car's number plates shortly before the fatal shooting.
The family of Mohammed, who was the son of the chairman of Dudley Central Mosque, paid tribute following the convictions.
They said: 'For nearly two years, we as a family have struggled to accept the loss of our Haroon. We thank the police for their tireless work.'
Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, of West Midlands Police, added: 'This was a carefully planned killing, and children have lost their father forever.
'Nothing can ever take away that pain.
'We can only hope these convictions will take some dangerous men off the streets and the ongoing police work will bring an end to such violence.
'We're grateful to the Dudley community who supported us during this investigation.'
