Brittney Griner cheers on the Philadelphia Eagles alongside her wife at Super Bowl LVII

Brittney Griner was representing the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LVII Sunday night.

The WNBA superstar made her third public appearance since being released from a Russian prison in December.

Griner was pictured alongside wife Cherelle with both wearing green and white jerseys as they watched on in the stands of State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona.

The appearance at America's biggest game came a day after turning out to watch some golf at the Phoenix Open.

The couple were among 200,000 fans who descended on the event and they took in the action from the famous 16th hole.

Griner made her first public appearance six weeks after being released from prison  at the Martin Luther King Jr. march in downtown Phoenix on January 17.

It was a surprise appearance at the MLK Day march in Phoenix but the couple happily posed for photos with fans.

Griner has a special connection to Arizona as she has played her entire WNBA career with the Mercury following a successful college career at Baylor University in Texas.

The basketball player missed the 2021-22 WNBA season after being arrested in Russia for carrying marijuana vape cartridges through an airport in February.

She spent 10 months in prison in Russia with her last few weeks in a penal colony and she was released in a prisoner exchange for notorious Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.

Following Griner's arrest at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport, she pleaded guilty in July but still faced trial because admitting guilt in Russia's judicial system does not automatically end a case.

She acknowledged in court that she possessed canisters with cannabis oil but said she had no criminal intent and she accidentally packed them. Her defense team presented written statements that she had been prescribed cannabis to treat pain.

After her release, Griner wrote on Instagram: 'It feels so good to be home! The last 10 months have been a battle at every turn. I dug deep to keep my faith and it was the love from so many of you that helped keep me going. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone for your help.'

Griner is skipping the USA Basketball training camp in Minnesota so she can be with her wife and recover from her time in jail in Russia.

She has said she'll play for the Phoenix Mercury again this season, although she's still an unsigned free agent.

Griner hasn't talked about her international future, nor potentially playing in the Olympics next year in Paris.
