Aaron Rodgers jokes Davante Adams should 'buy him a house' after Raiders WR tried to recruit him

Aaron Rodgers joked that former teammate Davante Adams should 'buy him a house' after the Raiders wide receiver tried to lure him to Las Vegas.

Rumors continue to swirl around Rodgers's NFL future as he played at the PGA Tour's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week, with the quarterback said to be on the Green Bay Packers' trade block this offseason.

His former Packers teammate Adams publicly tried to recruit him to the Raiders on Twitter earlier this week.

A fan tweeted: 'Which neighborhood is @AaronRodgers12 moving to?' To which, Adams simply replied, 'mine,' fueling speculation of a potential reunion.

The speculation followed Rodgers to the golf course Saturday as a fan stopped him at the tournament, calling out: 'Aaron, I heard Davante is looking for a neighbor bro.'

Rodgers wittily fired back: 'Tell him to buy me a house. He's got that money now.'

Rodgers was referencing the five-year, $141 million contract Adams signed upon his St. Patrick’s Day trade from Green Bay to Las Vegas last year.

The Raiders are set to have quarterback opening once they move on from Derek Carr.

NBC's Mike Florio recently reported that the Raiders were set to change their focus from trying to acquire Tom Brady to acquiring Rodgers following the news of the seven-time Super Bowl winner's retirement.

Reuniting Rodgers and Adams would certainly provide a major boost to a Raiders offense that ended the season ranked 12th in points per game.

The Rodgers-Adams duo had finished in the top 15 of offenses every year since Adams was drafted by Green Bay ahead of the 2014 season, with the one outlier being the 2014 season when Rodgers only played seven games due to injury.

The injury to his star QB did not stop Adams from putting up productive numbers however, as he still finished the season with 10 touchdowns.

The veteran quarterback previously addressed his NFL future at the PGA Tour event when he ruled out the San Francisco 49ers as a potential landing spot.

Following its quarterback woes this season, Rodgers' childhood team was thought to be a potential destination for him.

However, he quickly dispelled any speculation of a trade to the Niners as he teed up a shot Friday.

While taking a practice swing on a par-3 at Pebble Beach, Rodgers was asked by hole announcer Colt Knost if he had any news to share.

The crowd let out a little chuckle as Rodgers, with a massive smirk, said: 'I'm not going to San Fran.'

As Rodgers went to address his stance, Knost joked back that the NFL veteran would 'look great with a Cowboys star on his helmet,' referring to Jerry Jones's Dallas team.

The quip got yet another ripple of laughter from the spectators gathered around the tee box but Rodgers offered no comment as he zeroed in on his swing.

Taking an iron, he hit a sweet-sounding shot that landed pin-high before spinning off the green slightly.

The Packers are reportedly looking to 'move on' from Rodgers and the signal-caller is said to be aware of Green Bay's feelings towards the situation.

Financial reasons are said to be the major impetus behind a potential trade, with Green Bay projected to be $16 million over next season's salary cap.

The four-time MVP is due $59.5 million in guaranteed money in 2023 and $49.25 million in 2024.
