2021 Travelers Championship Fantasy golf rankings, picks, sleepers: Back Bryson DeChambeau, fade Paul Casey

Dustin Johnson seems to be edging back into form, and he will try to defend his title when the 2021 Travelers Championship tees off Thursday at TPC River Highlands. Johnson had a round of 61 on his way to his first win of 2020, a victory that started his run to the FedEx Cup championship. Five of the top 10 golfers in the world are in the 2021 Travelers Championship field. Top-ranked Johnson is joined by Bryson DeChambeau as 12-1 co-favorite in the latest 2021 Travelers Championship odds from William Hill Sportsbook. Brooks Koepka is at 14-1, with Paul Casey and Patrick Cantlay set at 16-1.

Can DeChambeau rebound from his disastrous final round at the U.S. Open and reward you if you make him one of your Fantasy golf picks? Or would Casey or Cantlay give you better value in your 2021 Travelers Championship Fantasy golf lineups? Before making any 2021 Travelers Championship Fantasy golf picks, you really need to see the latest Fantasy golf rankings from data scientist Rick Gehman.

With his expansive database of golf statistics, course data and betting odds, Gehman creates advanced models and back-tests them constantly. These models have produced 13 outright winners in the past 18 months and four this season, including Viktor Hovland at 25-1 at the Mayakoba Golf Classic and Daniel Berger at 20-1 at Pebble Beach.

At last week's U.S. Open, Gehman was dead-on, with 10 of his top 11 selections finishing in the top 20. That included No. 1 pick Jon Rahm, who won his first major title, and three others from those 11 picks also finished in the top five. The only one who finished outside the top 20 was DeChambeau, who led at the turn on Sunday before a major collapse.

The golf expert knew Rahm was coming in with tremendous momentum after being forced to withdraw with a six-shot lead at the Memorial. And Gehman's observation that Rahm "has dominated Torrey Pines in his career" was made clear when the Spaniard drained long birdie putts on the final two holes to win at 6-under par.

Now, Gehman, co-host of "The First Cut" podcast on CBS Sports, has revealed his top 30 players for the Travelers Championship 2021. Be sure to head over to SportsLine so you can cash in big with your Fantasy golf picks.

Gehman is confident that DeChambeau can bounce back after leading at the turn on the final day at the U.S. Open. His power game plays well at River Highlands, where he is 37-under par over his last three events. He shot 68 or lower in 11 of the 12 rounds and finished in the top 10 all three times. The 27-year-old will be aiming for a big weekend to put his final-round 77 at Torrey Pines behind him quickly, and he remains one of the best players around. He is the tour's longest driver and is ninth in scoring average (69.978) and fifth in par breakers (25.1 percent).

On the other hand, Casey has played well in the last two majors, but the golf expert is slightly fading him this week. Casey is right in the mix of favorites, but outside the majors he has mostly been average this season. He finished T-7 last week and T-4 at the PGA Championship, but he didn't crack the top 20 in the four events before that. He was 32nd at the Travelers last season but finished in the top five the previous three years. With so many questions, Gehman is looking at several other players as better options, and Casey barely cracks his top 10.

This week, the golf analyst is backing a massive long shot who comes in higher than 30-1. This player appears to be on the verge of another victory, and he has played well at River Highlands before. You should see who it is, and what else Gehman is saying, before you make any 2021 Travelers Championship bets or finalizing your 2021 Travelers Championship Fantasy golf strategy.
