After separating from the competition to claim his first career major championship, Collin Morikawa will look to defend his title when the 2021 PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday, May 20 at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. The PGA Championship 2021 will be the 103rd playing of this illustrious tournament, and this year's edition will feature a star-studded field. In fact, the 2021 PGA Championship field will feature over 150 of the world's best players competing for the coveted Wanamaker Trophy.

Last year's champion, Morikawa will attempt to shake off the rust after finishing 41st or worse in three of his last five starts on the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy, who's coming off a victory at the Wells Fargo Championship, is the favorite at 10-1. One huge shocker the model is calling for at the PGA Championship 2021: Bryson DeChambeau, the fifth-ranked player in the world and the 2020 US Open champion, stumbles big-time and barely cracks the top 10. DeChambeau is powerful off the tee and leads the Tour in driving distance, but his driving accuracy percentage ranks 136th, and that weakness will be magnified at the Ocean Course.

DeChambeau does have two wins on tour this season, but it's still been an up and down year for the 2020 US Open champion. He's coming off back-to-back finishes outside the top 40, including a disappointing 46th-place finish at the Masters. He also missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational in February, which knocked him out of the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking before recovering with a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Even with his prodigious power, DeChambeau's 1.752 putting average doesn't even rank among the top 75 on the PGA Tour. Nearly 3.3 percent of his total holes have ended in three-putts, and that percentage ranks 149th. There are just too many factors going against DeChambeau at the Ocean Course, so he's someone to steer clear of for your 2021 PGA Championship bets.

Another surprise: Patrick Reed, a massive long shot at 33-1, makes a strong run at the PGA Championship 2021 title. Reed has been playing extremely well, securing his ninth career PGA Tour victory at the Farmers Insurance Open in January. He's recorded a total of five top-10 finishes this season, which includes a sixth-place showing at the Wells Fargo Championship last week.

Reed has been able to secure those positive results thanks in large part to his sensational short game. The former Masters champion enters the PGA Championship 2021 ranked third or better in strokes gained putting (1.043), putting average (1.681), one-putt percentage (45.9) and total putting (73.8). He also ranks inside the top 10 in a number of important statistical categories that will go a long way at Kiawah Island, including sand save percentage (62.5) and birdie average (4.45).
