Packers Release Statement Because Lions Fans Took Over Lambeau Field

The Packers just had to chime in on the sea of Lions fans invading Lambeau Field last night.

The Lions came to town and handed the Packers a 34-20 loss on Amazon’s Thursday Night Football. And it seemed like half the stadium was rocking Honolulu Blue and Silver!

The Packers had to say something about it, though. They basically told their ticket holders, “Hey, sell your tickets to Packers fans if you can, but we can’t control the secondary market.”

The official statement from the team reads: “The Packers have encouraged our ticket holders to sell to other Packers fans when possible. The secondary market, however, allows fans from anywhere to purchase tickets and Lambeau Field remains a popular destination for all fans, including those from other teams. We have seen this particularly with divisional games. Conversely this is how the Packers often enjoy many Packers fans at away games.”

The Lions playfully responded to the statement as well.

You don’t see teams griping about their own fans’ absence from home games every day, but the Packers just did.
