Former Test cricket bowler Chadd Sayers has declared Australia could lose to India inside three days.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's play in Nagpur, the retired South Australian paceman fears Pat Cummins' men are already broken and salvaging a draw in the first Test is their only hope.
The Aussies spent all of day two in the field in energy sapping conditions, and still require two more wickets before commencing their second innings.
'I think the game is over after our first innings (performance),' Sayers told SEN SA.
'I thought we actually bowled pretty well on Friday, Pat Cummins bounced back after his first spell on day one was pretty poor.
'Scotty Boland bowled well without being too threatening and Todd Murphy was outstanding.
'They got themselves back in the game a little bit, but (Ravindra) Jadeja and (Axar) Patel put the nail in the coffin (late on day two) I think.'
Sayers also stated the glaring point of difference between the two sides is India's batting depth.
'Their batting talent is just immense,' he said.
'If they build a lead of anything well over 150, I think the game might be done by Saturday.'
Sayers, 35, is considered by many fans to be one of Australia's unluckiest cricketers.
Despite being a prolific wicket taker at Sheffield Shield level for the Redbacks, he wore the baggy green on just one occasion - in March of 2018.
His first Test wicket was a significant scalp - former South African captain AB de Villiers.
