Portland State stuns Northern Arizona with absurd buzzer beater with 0.4 SECONDS remaining

Portland State produced perhaps the best highlight of an action-packed Saturday night with a circus shot sealing a win over Northern Arizona in NCAA basketball.

With just 0.4 seconds remaining, down 87-86, Portland State's Hunter Woods launched a Hail Mary pass to Isaiah Johnson.

Woods looked like he could play quarterback in his spare time, heaving the ball almost the entire length of the court.

Johnson almost didn't even catch the ball before guiding it onto the glass. In truth, it was more like a set in volleyball, as he directed the ball onto the glass.

It glanced off the backboard and straight into the basket to secure the Vikings a famous victory.

A Northern Arizona player was pushed over as he sunk to his knees following the loss, only to be helped up by junior Jorell Saterfield in a show of great sportsmanship.

'I think this is a credit to our players and being mentally tough enough to be able to lock in with four-tenths of a second left to make the play,' Portland State coach Jase Coburn said postgame via GoViks.com.

'It was a heck of a pass by Hunter, a heck of a job screening for Johnson, then a heck of a play by Isaiah to score.'

It was Portland State's 11th victory on the season. The 11-15 (5-8 Big Sky Conference) squad heaped more misery upon Northern Arizona.

The Lumberjacks dropped to 7-20 on the season. Their 9-0 run to take the lead with 0.4 seconds ultimately went in vain.
