First year students from the Presentation Secondary School here in Listowel are going to be decked out to the nines this basketball season, all thanks to the generous sponsorship by the team at the Listowel Credit Union.

The jerseys were presented to the girls at the school last week and to say they were thrilled with their new attire would be an understatement.

The sponsorship from the Credit Union continues a proud tradition and link between the school and the organisation with CEO of Listowel Credit Union, Denis Dillane, saying that the sponsorshop shows the group’s dedication to their local community.

“The credit unions ongoing sponsorship activities reflects our commitment to supporting local schools, clubs and community groups. Members supporting us by way of loans allows us to continue supporting the communities across our common bond.”

Mr. Michael Daly, teacher and basketball coach at Presentation Secondary School was also suitably chuffed at the new gear for his athletes.

“We are delighted with the end result and our teams will wear their new kit with pride,” he said.
