It’s not even March yet and we have some madness already cooking in college basketball.
The Iowa Hawkeyes just had an amazing 24-hour stretch you just have to see to believe. Both the men’s and women’s teams came up big over the weekend.
ESPN highlights what has transpired in Carver-Hawkeye Arena the past couple of days. From a 13-point comeback for the men’s team and a clutch game-winner from the women’s team, Iowa is on cloud nine right now.
The Hawkeyes men’s team found themselves down 13 points with just over a minute and a half on the clock. However, things changed after head coach Fran McCaffery stared down the referee into oblivion.
Eventually, that led to Iowa hitting a crazy shot to send it to overtime.
The men’s team ended up defeating Michigan State by six points in what turned out to be a wild finish.
After a crazy Saturday, Iowa wasn’t done just yet. The women’s team took the court in an incredibly important matchup against Indiana. With the game coming down to the wire, Caitlin Clark proved yet again why she’s the nation’s top player.
It’s safe to say Clark has ice in her veins.
Yeah. That’s quite the weekend for anybody, let alone a single school. Shoutout to Iowa for having an amazing 24-hour stretch.
Look for their hot hands to continue with March Madness right around the corner.
