Bronny James was one of 24 high school elite basketball athletes selected for McDonald's famous All-American game on Tuesday, much like his father LeBron James was.
Bronny, who's real name is LeBron James Jr., is currently ESPN's 28th ranked player and 247sports No. 36 overall player in the class of 2023.
Shortly after the announcement 'proud' dad Lebron took to Instagram to compliment his son by saying: 'Ayyyyyyyeeeeee @bronny!!!!!! Congratulations Son! So damn proud of you! Continue to be you through it all no matter what!! You're truly AMAZING!!! #JamesGang.'
'P.S. Congrats to all the other men and women who was named as well in the 2023 Class Micky D's games! It's an HONOR.'
Bronny was not the only big-name high school prospect named to the game as Kentucky recruits Justin Edwards, D.J. Wagner (son of ex-NBAer and LeBron's old teammate Dajuan Wagner), Aaron Bradshaw, and Reed Sheppard, USC commit Isaiah Collier and Texas Longhorn commit Ron Holland also making the 24-man list.
Bronny is yet to make a college decision, but his final three choices are believed to be between USC, Oregon, and his father's beloved Ohio State.
Previously Bronny and LeBron were seen attending Ohio States opening football game against Notre Dame during his official visit to the school. The younger James then followed this up by posting pictures of himself in an Ohio State uniform.
If Bronny puts on a performance in the game anywhere near the one his father did when LeBron scored 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds and tossed out seven assists 20 years ago, whichever school he chooses will be more than excited to have him on the roster even if for only one season.
ESPN draft expert Jonathan Givony recently reported that Bronny was already being a considered a possible first round pick in the 2024 NBA draft.
