Britney Spears' husband Sam Asghari takes ice bath after she reflected on ex Justin Timberlake

Britney Spears' husband Sam Asghari shared a clip of himself taking an ice bath on Wednesday, a day after the pop star made headlines for alluding to her past relationship with Justin Timberlake.

Asghari, 28, took to Instagram Stories to share a clip in which he used a device called the Ice Barrel, and filled it up with water, ice and Epsom salt, stirring it together with his arm before entering the barrel.

The spouse of the Grammy-winning artist, 41 - who denied that she had a 'manic meltdown' at a Woodland Hills, California restaurant over the weekend - wore only black shorts as he acclimated himself to the frigid temperature inside the barrel.

The Tehran, Iran-born actor and fitness professional first stood in the device for a few seconds before sitting in it and submerging his head under the water.

He said that the practice - which appeared to take place after an intense workout he featured on the social media site - was 'very soothing' as he got in a second time.

'Oh s***, it's cold,' Asghari said of the experience, adding three hysterical laughing emojis to the post.

On Tuesday, Spears was clearly feeling nostalgic as she took to Instagram to post some throwback photos with Justin Timberlake, who she dated from early 1999 until 2002.

The Lucky songstress shared a slideshow of photos of herself and ex-boyfriend at a celebrity basketball game back in 2001.

During the charity event, which took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the star sported a white Knight's jersey and a pair of baggy shorts.

'When we used to shoot hoops TOGETHER … that’s when miracles happened,' she captioned two snaps from the event.

While seemingly nodding to her worldwide fame and nearly three decades in the public eye, Spears asked why she was 'always cast' out, despite coming out of her 'mom's stomach just like' everyone else.'

'I'm equal as all,' she concluded

Her latest posts come Asghari denied that Spears had 'a manic meltdown' while out at a restaurant over the weekend.

'Don't believe what you read online people,' he wrote on his Instagram Story.

The performer had reportedly been seen 'talking gibberish' when fans tried to take photos of her dining with Ashgari at the JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills on Friday, before he appeared to storm out, TMZ initially reported.

However, Sam also spoke to a photographer on Sunday and explained that his wife was just 'frustrated' that fans were trying to take their picture while they were having dinner.

'People get a little too excited to see my wife so everybody is filming, doing their thing,' he explained. 'But you know how it is, fame comes with the territory and I went to get the car to get the hell out of there, and people just thought I'd left, but that didn't happen. So it is what it is man.'

Asked if Britney - whose conservatorship was terminated last year - had felt frustrated by the situation, Sam added: 'Yes, exactly - she felt frustrated and disrespected.'
