Australia's 2021 Olympic Games uniform is revealed with an epic hidden detail

Australia's Olympic uniform for the Opening Ceremony of the 2021 Games in Tokyo has been revealed - and the attire contains an epic hidden detail.

The likes of canoeist Jess Fox and rising Indigenous softballer Tarni Stepto modelled the uniforms at Sydney's Wyllie Baths on Tuesday, with one standout feature - the inside of the jackets feature the names of all 320 of Australia's previous Olympic gold medallists.

'It's very special to walk out and have that on your shoulders and know the Australian legacy, know who has come before you and inspire the next generation,' Fox said at the launch, according to Wide World of Sports.

It comes after basketball star Liz Cambage earlier this month called out the Australian Olympic Committee over a perceived lack of racial diversity in a series of promotional photos.

Australian Olympic Team Chef de Mission Ian Chesterman feels the design will resonate with many Australians.

'The design has a distinct feel and I look forward to the Australian community seeing the official Australian Olympic uniforms for Tokyo,' Chesterman said.

'We are expecting around 480 athletes will wear this uniform with incredible pride.

'After the challenges athletes have faced in making it to the Games, (due to the global pandemic) putting on this uniform will be a special milestone for the Australian Olympic Team members.'

All the Australian athletes will wear the uniforms at the Opening Ceremony, which is just 66 days away in late July.

Earlier this month, Australian basketball star Cambage threatened to boycott the Tokyo Olympics over a series of 'whitewashed' photos.

Amid a barrage of criticism, notably from fellow champion basketballer Andrew Bogut - she backflipped on her decision and confirmed she would take part in her third Olympics.

Cambage, who plays professionally in the US, also considers herself a fighter for gender equality and an 'alpha female with a lot of masculine personality'.

'I am such a narcissist, I am such a psycho bitch that all the hate that you give me, I love it. It turns me on. It makes me go harder, it makes me push for more,' she said.

'There are two people in this world. There are the people who have the balls to stand up and say something and make change; that's me. That's me. I was born for this.'
