Johnny Ruffo has been making the most of the holiday season with his beloved girlfriend Tahnee Sims.

The 34-year-old actor and singer, who has terminal brain cancer, shared photos to his stories on Friday of a trip the couple made to Rottnest Island in WA.

Looking cheerful in red board shorts, a T-shirt and baseball cap, the former Home and Away favourite can be seen enjoying the sun in one snap, as he stands knee deep in the ocean.

'Beautiful day on Rottnest,' Johnny captioned the story. 

Another beautiful picture features the happy couple in a cosy selfie with the beach as a backdrop.

The brave X-Factor star also included videos of the couple's romantic trip to the famed tourist destination.

In one clip, tourists can be seen cycling along a track leading to the island's picturesque beach.

Another features a sweeping view of a beautiful beach, which boasts dazzling white sand.

Earlier this month Johnny, who hails from Perth, returned home with Tahnee to celebrate Christmas with his family.

The couple, who are based in Sydney, shared a selfie of their flight out to WA. 

'So excited to be in Perth for Christmas,' he captioned the image. 

Johnny was first diagnosed with cancer in 2017 after he went to hospital with painful migraines.

In August that year, he had a 7cm brain tumour surgically removed before undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. 

Johnny sadly confirmed his brain cancer diagnosis was terminal this year. 

He previously said he was determined to keep fighting until at least Christmas so he could have a long-overdue family reunion.

He told 7News in September he hoped to see his brother Michael, who had been living in Ireland for the last three years.
