Exciting young Indian Test cricket player Prithvi Shaw has been filmed at the centre of an altercation with fans.

A viral video shared on social media has captured the Delhi Capitals opener in a heated argument with a female fan, who was allegedly part of a group of people that attacked Shaw.

The incident reportedly occurred after Shaw refused to take selfies with two individuals.

According to news agency ANI, Oshiwara Police has registered a case against eight individuals in connection with the alleged attack on Shaw's friend's car.

This occurred after Shaw declined to take a selfie with the group for the second time. Multiple videos of the scuffle involving Shaw and a fan have emerged on Twitter.

The incident reportedly took place at a cafe in the Sahara Star hotel on Wednesday.

As per a report filed by the Indian Express, Shaw was allegedly attacked with a baseball bat after he declined to take more photos.

'While they were having dinner, two people, including a woman, approached them for a selfie. The cricketer initially cooperated, but the two kept harassing them for more pictures,' an officer said.

Shaw became the 293rd Test cricketer to represent India in 2018 during a match against West Indies in Rajkot after Indian selectors lost faith in Shikhar Dhawan.

Shaw made history on his debut by becoming the youngest Indian Test centurion on debut and the second-youngest Test centurion for India behind Sachin Tendulkar.

Shaw has played 5 Tests, 6 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and a single T20I for India.

He strengthened his case for a recall to the national Test side with a maiden triple century in the domestic Ranji Trophy tournament.

The young opener had been dropped during India's 2021 tour of Australia after after scores of 0 and 4 in the Adelaide Test match.

Shaw was also one of five Indian cricket players placed in isolation after being filmed seated indoors at Secret Kitchen, a Chinese noodle and BBQ restaurant at Chadstone Shopping Centre after the Sydney Test in violation of Covid protocols.
