But American crooner Harry Connick Jr. didn't mind eating breakfast off his lap at a bohemian café in Sydney on Thursday.  

The Australian Idol judge, 55, sat on a deckchair outside the eatery and dined with his model wife Jill Goodacre, 57, and two of their daughters, Georgia and Sarah.

The New Orleans native rocked a smart-casual look for for his trip to the trendy beachside suburb of Bronte, sporting a grey jacket, shorts and sneakers. 

He sported a five o'clock shadow and completed his look with a baseball cap and smartwatch. 

Harry looked delighted to spend some quality bonding time with his family and at one point he put his plate on his lap to rest his food.

Harry is in town filming Australian Idol and his co-host Kyle Sandilands recently revealed he is no longer speaking to him after the American singer stormed off the set over a prank Kyle played on him.

The radio presenter, 51, explained on Tuesday that Harry became upset after one of his KIIS FM staffers, 'Intern' Pete Deppeler, jokingly auditioned for the show.

A video shared to The Kyle and Jackie O Show's Instagram page showed Pete, who was in disguise, telling the judges he would be performing a song called Big D**k Energy. 

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the shock jock explained Harry is a 'serious' man and 'not into jokes', so became furious when he realised Pete's audition was just a prank.

'Harry stood up and said, 'Oh, my God, we're better than this,' and walked off the set,' Kyle said.

His co-host Jackie 'O' Henderson said she'd heard from Channel Seven that Harry requested all footage of him reacting to Pete's comedic performance be destroyed.

Kyle said he was fed up with Harry's serious attitude putting a damper on what was meant to be a fun show, and confirmed their friendship was over.
