England's Harry Maguire 'purchases beachfront villa in celeb-loved Barbados resort'

From representing England in the FIFA World Cup in Qatar to tying the knot to Fern Hawkins in France, he had a jam packed 2022.

And Harry Maguire has reportedly snapped up a lavish new holiday home in Barbados for him and his new wife to 'unwind' at.

The football ace, 29, seems to have made a good choice with the popular resort, which also boasts villas owned by fellow sportsmen Wayne Rooney and Gary Lineker.

Harry is said to have bought a beachfront pad with four bedrooms inside the luxurious Royal Westmoreland resort - overlooking an 18-hole golf course.

According to their website, properties on the resort appear to begin from £950,000 and range above £4,191,950 for full ownership.

The Manchester United defender shares daughters Lillie, three, and Piper, two, with his new wife and long-term partner Fern.

And the new holiday pad is the perfect place for the family of four to relax, according to insiders.

A source told The Sun: 'It’s been a tough year. Harry’s struggled on the pitch and been targeted off it. They need somewhere they can unwind.'

The resort has become so popular with northern celebrities that its Jasmine Ridge development is now unofficially known as the 'Northern Quarter'.

So it's no surprise that Harry's in good company with the purchase, as fellow sportsman Wayne and his wife Coleen also own a property within the resort.

The couple are said to have paid a cool £5M for the sun-soaked pad, but rent it out when not in use - with a £25,000-a-week rental fee in high season.

The lavish villa was furnished by Coleen when it was built in 2010 and comes with five bedrooms, an infinity pool and breathtaking sea views.

Former England cricketer Freddie Flintoff, ex-world champion boxer Joe Calzaghe, Rio Ferdinand and TV hosts Ant and Dec have all owned property on the luxury estate too.

While Gary Lineker previously owned a sizeable pad there too, which he sold up in 2010 - but still visits the resort frequently.
