Chase Chrisley's fiancée Emmy Medders says couple recovered from 'major breakup'

Chase Chrisley's fiancée Emmy Medders has opened up about their romance in an appearance Tuesday on the Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast.

Medders, 26, chat about her 'ups and downs' with the Chrisley Knows Best personality, 26, as the pair got engaged this past October 21 at Nashville's First Horizon Baseball Stadium, with Chase having 175,000 rose petals arranged in a heart shape.

News of the engagement came more than a month before Chase's parents Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, were sentenced to federal prison November 22 in connection with their bank fraud and tax evasion convictions.

Todd was sentenced to 12 years in custody, while Julie was sentenced to seven years in custody, both with 16 months of probation. (Their ex-accountant Peter Tarantino received three-year sentence in the case.)

Medders told Savannah, 25, that she and Chase 'started talking right before COVID hit,' detailing the timeline in their relationship.

Medders continued: 'It was on-and-off, and then we were doing really well, and then we did have one like major breakup where we didn't talk for like - I want to say it was two months, but it was probably more like two weeks ... it felt like two months for me.'

Medders said that their relationship has been 'great' in the wake of the past parting.

She and Savannah both acknowledged that they have had friction in their own interactions, with Savannah saying they didn't 'have a great relationship.'

Medders said that 'there's no hate at all,' adding, 'I mean, I know we're not sisters yet, but family's gonna get in arguments ... I don't mess with Savannah!'

Both agreed that their conflict - which 'had to do with Chase,' Savannah said - was behind them.

Medders told People in October she 'was so surprised' about Chase's proposal to her, and 'had no idea it was happening.'

She said of the engagement: 'It was the perfect night. There's no doubt I want to spend the rest of my life with Emmy. We can't wait to build a family together.'

Chase told the outlet that while they 'would both really love to get married' in Charleston, South Carolina.

Medders said in October - prior to Todd and Julie Chrisley sentencing: 'Todd's already blowing up my phone, sending me some dress options that he thinks are pretty.'

Todd and Julie Chrisley have been ordered by federal authorities to report to prison January 17; their lawyer says they plan to appeal the convictions.
