A Day In The Life Of Air Force Academy Tight End Caleb Rillos Is As Strict And Intense As It Sounds

Air Force senior Caleb Rillos is the ultimate team player. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound tight end has a frame that is perfectly suited for his position with the athleticism to back it up.

However, he recorded only three total catches in 2021 and 2022, and has just one catch for 10 yards thus far this season. And yet, Rillos’ importance cannot be understated.

His impact as a blocker is crucial to the success of the Falcons offense. Rillos is a key piece to a team that won 10 games in each of the last two seasons. Air Force is 5-0 in 2023.

Although Rillos will finish his degree at the Academy in the spring, he plans to pursue a graduate opportunity elsewhere for his final two seasons of college football eligibility. In the meantime, there are still seven games left in the regular season.

All Air Force graduates must serve at least five years on active duty and three as inactive reserve after graduation. Rillos will hope to delay his service with two years at another program and — if all goes according to plan — a lengthy career in the NFL.

Either way, Rillos is on pace to graduate from the Academy with the Class of 2024. He is still a student-athlete at Air Force currently, which means that his daily routine is rather strict.

Here is a break down of Rillos’ average schedule:

That’s it. All business, all of the time.

Rillos spends his whole day focusing on three things: academics, football and the military. He boasts a 3.8 GPA and is a crucial piece to Air Force’s offensive success. His strict daily routine is paying off!
